Thomas L. Heeney is a trial lawyer who concentrates his practice in
criminal and civil matters with over 150 jury trials over his career
spanning three decades.  He is one of the few lawyers who does not
limit his practice to one area of the law.  Mr. Heeney is equally
experienced, knowledgeable, comfortable, and skillful in a wide range
of litigation challenges to include criminal, personal injury, civil, DUI,
traffic, and attorney grievance commission cases.  His case load is
known for its rich diversity, complexity, and successful outcomes.

successful trial of a home invasion criminal case involving
    erroneous eyewitness identification.

Since 1986, Mr. Heeney has received from Martindale Hubbell an AV
Peer Review rating, which is an objective indicator that a lawyer has
demonstrated the highest ethical standards and professional ability.

In 2009, Mr. Heeney was chosen by the Brain Injury Association of
Maryland to receive its Advocacy Award for his work litigating on
behalf of Traumatic Brain Injured (TBI) patients.

He is an active leader in the Bar Association of Montgomery County.
He was elected to two separate terms on the Association's Executive
Committee.  For 17 years he served on the Governor's Trial Courts
Judicial Nominating Commission for Montgomery County, having been
elected by his colleagues in the 3000 member Montgomery County
Bar Association in four separate elections since 1987. As a
Commissioner, he has had a role in the Commission's
recommendation to the Governor of the exclusive and limited list of
judicial applicants finally eligible for appointment by the Governor to
the Circuit and District Court bench..

As a service to the bar and to stay current with the rapidly advancing
state of the law, Mr. Heeney has written and lectured frequently in
the areas of civil and criminal litigation since he began his legal career.
Illustrative of his creative defense for DWI clients, is his practical and
well-received publication "Report from the M.V.A. Battlefield One Year
Later-- What's Working and What's Not!" (Click on
